Would you like to get outside, maintain social distancing and raise funds for new FOP research grants all at the same time? For the 3rd year, the IFOPA has been invited to participate in the 2020 Penn Medicine Orphan Disease Center Million Dollar Bike Ride – a fully virtual event – being held on Saturday, June 13.

What's a Virtual Bike Ride?

• Ride anywhere you feel most comfortable – your driveway, your neighborhood, a community greenway
• Ride in any city in the United States – or even anywhere in the world
• Ride any way you want – bicycle, adaptive bike, wheelchair, or even take a cruise in your car
• Ride any day you want – you just have to be done by June 30

No matter where or how you ride, you are still raising money to fund new FOP research.

The Million Dollar Bike Ride is a very special opportunity because the Penn Medicine Orphan Disease Center matches a portion of the funds raised by the FOP community.*

• In 2018, $75,000 funded two FOP research grants.
• In 2019, $80,000 funded two more FOP research grants.

So much has changed during the COVID-19 pandemic. We know that everyone has been impacted whether it's physically, mentally or economically, or all of the above. But the prevalence of FOP hasn’t changed. The need for FOP research continues and we are participating in the Virtual Million Dollar Bike to ensure the momentum in finding treatments and, one day, a cure is not lost.

In order to receive a Million Dollar Bike Ride goodie bag (which includes a #cureFOP t-shirt and hydration belt), we ask that you raise at least $100.
