Tin Soldiers is an independent documentary film that embarks upon a search for those living with FOP, who remain isolated and undiagnosed. One of the world’s rarest conditions (Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva - FOP), it causes muscles, ligaments, and tendons to turn into bone...rendering individuals with limited mobility. This film has personalized the condition, the sufferers, their families, and their extraordinary lives. From South African townships, to the Brazilian favelas, and across the vastness of America, the film records their uncommon existences and yet identifies their common resilience and courage to prevail. And the hope that they, and those yet to be found, will be the beneficiaries of current medical science and brilliant medical minds: remarkable world wide research, current clinical trials, and proper medical care.
The mission of the full length documentary we are raising funds for is to expose communities to this condition in order to identify those living with FOP but do NOT know what they have. We want to change that and help by sharing with them where to go for help, what is safe medical care, clinical trials, drug approvals, and an essential connection with an FOP community who can embrace them, and turn their desperation into HOPE.
Although a portion of this film has been rendered and funded, additional contributions are desperately needed to complete this monumental effort and mission. We have hope that you will join us in adding your donation to this cause. Your donation to Tin Soldiers is not eligible for any matching fund campaigns the IFOPA is running.
