About the 2024 FOP Family Gathering

Family Gatherings are an exciting opportunity to learn from FOP experts and one another, reconnect with old friends, and develop new relationships. The IFOPA is pleased to present the 2024 Gathering on November 7-9 in Denver, Colorado, USA. Please note that all meeting presentations and materials will only be available in English. 

Agenda:
Thursday, November 7 (3 to 10 pm) – The Family Gathering will begin on Thursday afternoon with a New Family Orientation for first-time attendees. This time before the official start of the event will help participants learn about the IFOPA, the FOP community and tips for a successful and enjoyable Family Gathering event. A welcome dinner for all attendees will take place Thursday evening. 

Friday, November 8 – We’ll have a full day with presentations in the morning and breakouts in the afternoon. Ask a Doctor and Ask a Dentist meetings will also take place on Friday afternoon. There will be a group dinner at the hotel on Friday evening. 

Saturday, November 9 – Saturday will be the last day of general sessions in the morning followed by a special off-site community event on Saturday afternoon. Ask a Doctor and Ask a Dentist meetings will also take place on Saturday morning. There will be a group dinner at the hotel on Saturday evening.

Sunday, November 10 – Sunday will be an additional day of Ask A Doctor and Ask A Dentists meetings with the opportunity to participate in the FOP Biobank, visit the Ability Toolbox room, or shop at the IFOPA store.

Ask A Doctor and Ask A Dentist Meetings

During the 2024 Family Gathering, there will be a limited number of medical and dental meetings with a team of FOP experts. The purpose of these meetings is to give families the opportunity to speak with experts in the FOP field and ask questions about recent concerns; no written notes are provided following your meeting. You will sign up to participate when you complete your registration. 

Registration Rates

Registration includes Thursday's dinner, two breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners on Friday and Saturday.

Registration Rates for FOP Families

• Individual living with FOP - Complimentary 

• First family member, caregiver or friend - $100 USD

• Additional family members or attendants (age 16+) - $150 each USD

• Additional family members or attendants (5 to 15 years old) - $75 each USD

• Additional family members or attendants (0-5 years old) - Complimentary

Academic Researcher or Health Care Professional - $350 per person

Biotech, Pharma and Other Corporate Entities - $550 per person

Event Hotel

The 2024 Family Gathering will be held at the Denver Marriott Westminster. The IFOPA is offering a special room block at the event hotel at the rate of $129/night. This rate is available for stays between November 2 and 16, 2024. Reservations should be made between May 1 and October 15, 2024 to receive this discounted rate. Rooms are available with a king bed or two double beds.

The hotel does offer several types of accessible rooms. You will note which type of room you require and any other accommodations you need in your Family Gathering registration. 

Travel

Denver International Airport (DEN) is the closest international airport to the Denver Marriott Westminster. During registration, you will be asked to share if you need assistance traveling between the Denver International Airport and the conference hotel. The IFOPA will offer airport transportation (to and from the airport) for families free of charge. Individuals who will be traveling with a wheelchair will receive priority. We cannot guarantee that non-wheelchair users will be accommodated as there are other transportation options (Uber, Lyft, taxi services) available to those attendees.
